Ashley & Javier’s Dreams Playa Mujeres wedding was one of those celebrations that stays with you forever — not only because of how beautiful it was, but because of how deeply personal it felt. Ashley and Javier’s destination wedding weekend in Playa Mujeres, Mexico was one of those unforgettable experiences for me.

I don’t know if I’ll ever have enough words of gratitude for Ashley & Javi for entrusting me with capturing such a meaningful chapter of their love story. From the moment they reached out, I knew this weekend was going to be something truly special — but I couldn’t have imagined just how full-circle it would feel.

This wedding was especially close to my heart for two reasons. First, Dreams Playa Mujeres happens to be my own wedding venue. Walking back onto the property a year and a half later instantly brought back waves of nostalgia and gratitude for such a beautiful season in my husband and I’s life. It felt surreal to revisit a place that holds so many memories for me personally — the same beaches, pathways, and ocean views that framed my own wedding day.

But the second reason made it even more meaningful: this time, I arrived not as the bride — but as the one entrusted with preserving someone else’s best day ever. There was something incredibly special about stepping into that role with a deeper understanding of how much these moments matter, how fleeting they are, and how powerful it is to have them documented with intention and care.

Being able to support Ashley throughout the planning process was such a joy. From sharing little tips and tricks I learned while planning my own destination wedding, to helping ease nerves and excitement along the way, it truly felt like a collaborative journey rather than just showing up on the wedding day. By the time we arrived at the resort, it felt like everything had come full circle.

And then there’s Ashley and Javier themselves — two humans whose love absolutely radiates. The way they look at each other, laugh together, and move through the world side by side made my job incredibly easy. I found myself smiling behind my camera, laughing during quiet in-between moments, and even getting a little emotional throughout the day. Their connection was tangible, joyful, and deeply genuine — the kind of love that reminds you exactly why you do what you do.

The Playa Mujeres setting could not have been more perfect for their celebration. Warm ocean breezes, glowing golden light, vibrant tropical colors, and the calming rhythm of the sea created the dreamiest backdrop for their vows and celebrations. Every corner of the resort felt alive with energy, love, and celebration — the kind of atmosphere that makes destination weddings so magical.

Ashley and Javier’s wedding weekend was filled with intentional moments, heartfelt emotion, and pure joy from start to finish. It was an absolute honor to document their story in a place that means so much to me personally, and to preserve memories that they’ll be able to relive for generations to come.
